Utah Admin. Code R920-50-4 - General Requirements for Passenger Ropeways
(1) Passenger ropeways operating in Utah must
be registered annually with the Committee, and no passenger ropeway must be
operated for passengers without a valid Certificate of Registration.
(2) Ropeways require a qualified engineer to
certify the design, and construction of the ropeway. A Qualified Engineer or
Land Surveyor must complete the "as-built" profile and certification.
(3) Existing ropeways, when removed and
reinstalled, must be classified as new installations.
(4) Ropeway operators must be covered by a
liability insurance of a minimum of $300,000. The Utah Passenger Ropeway Safety
Committee must be notified of a lapse or termination of insurance coverage
under the terms of the policy.
