W. Va. Code R. § 126-136-2 - [Effective 1/11/2025] Summary
2.1. This policy
outlines the minimum requirements for the various certificates approved by the
West Virginia Board of Education (WVBE) and issued by the State Superintendent
of Schools (State Superintendent), to educators and paraprofessionals who
qualify to work in West Virginia's public schools. This policy also outlines
the qualifications for advanced salary classifications. Important terminology
is defined, governing principles are identified, and the criteria for issuance
of each certificate and salary classification are established. Guidance for
applying for certification and licensure is provided by the West Virginia
Department of Education (WVDE).
