Wis. Admin. Code Department of Transportation Trans 113.02 - Definitions
The words and phrases defined in ss. 340.01 and 343.01, Stats., have the same meaning in this chapter unless a different definition is specifically provided. In this chapter:
(1) "Hearing
examiner" means an examiner or officer of the department authorized to conduct
administrative reviews.
(2) "Law
enforcement officer" means any person employed by the state or any political
subdivision of the state for the purpose of detecting and preventing crime and
enforcing laws or ordinances and who is authorized to make arrests for
violations of the laws or ordinances the person is employed to
enforce.
(3) "Office of the
department" means an office of the department that is staffed by personnel of
the bureau of field services region 5 days a week, or is the home office
location in the assigned region for bureau of field services personnel who
regularly travel to other locations.
