048-18 Wyo. Code R. §§ 18-3 - Continuing Medical Education Standards and Conditions
(a) CME course work
may take the form of:
(i) Live and in-person
lecture style instruction; or
(ii)
Distributed Continuing Medical Education (DCME), which is any educational
activity in which the licensee is unable to interact in person or in real time
with an instructor, including education through websites and digital
media.
(b) A licensee
may receive credit for the completion of CME course work only if the Division
has accredited the CME course work.
(c) Credit for the completion of CME course
work is calculated according to the following conditions:
(i) An "hour" of CME course work means sixty
(60) minutes of attendance or participation.
(ii) Credit is awarded in increments
according to the nearest quarter of an hour.
(iii) If a licensee provides the live and
in-person instruction for CME course work, the licensee may receive credit for
each hour of instruction. If the licensee provided instruction in tandem or as
part of a group, the credit received is divided by the total number of fellow
instructors.
(iv) A licensee may
receive credit for the completion of DCME for no more than one half of the
total required hours of CME course work specific to the licensee's level of
licensure.
(v) A licensee may not
receive credit for substantially-identical CME course work unless the CME
course work occurred at least twelve months apart.
