landlady
Landlady is an antiquated term for a female property owner who leases real estate to a tenant. It is functionally equivalent to “landlord,” with the only difference being gender. A landlady must give proper notice before entering the property or ending a lease, as required by the lease agreement and state law. If a tenant stays after the lease ends or fails to pay rent, the landlady cannot remove them directly but must obtain a court-ordered eviction, which is carried out by a sheriff.
