logical fallacy

Logical fallacies are errors in reasoning that can undermine or distract from an argument. A logical fallacy can either be an illegitimate argument or an additional point which does not advance the strength of the argument. Logical fallacies can be identified in that there is often little evidence given to support the claim. Examples of logical fallacies include begging the question, the slippery slope or the red herring.
