money demand

A money demand is a legal claim or request for the payment of a fixed sum of money. It is a demand made by one party to another, as opposed to a damage claim s or money damages award , which must be assessed by the trier of fact . The party making the money demand generally has the burden of proving the validity of the claim and providing evidence to support the requested amount. If a money demand is valid and uncontested, the party against whom the demand is made may be legally obligated to pay the requested amount. Failure to comply with a legitimate money demand can lead to further legal action , such as lawsuits , collection efforts, or other remedies available under the law to enforce the payment.
