timely

In a legal context, “timely” means completing an action or fulfilling an obligation within a deadline specified in the law, a contract , or otherwise. For example, if a lease stipulates that the lessee must pay the rent within the first five business days of each calendar month, a payment within such a timeframe would be considered timely.
