transfer in contemplation of death
Transfer in contemplation of death means that a person transfers property to others when they believe they are about to die. If the person later recovers, the transfer may be revoked . It is also referred to as a gift causa mortis . The most important factor in the transfer in contemplation of death is the donor's state of mind (i.e. the belief that their imminent death is a compelling reason for transferring property to another person, not necessarily out of immediate danger of death).
