certification mark

A certification mark is used in commerce by a person other than its owner to identify goods or services as being of a particular type. When a certification mark is used on a product, it is to indicate the existence of an accepted product standard or regulation and a claim that the manufacturer has verified compliance with those standards or regulations.

collective mark

Collective mark is a mark used only by the members of an association, cooperative or other collective organization. A collective organization may include an association, union, cooperative, fraternal society or other organized groups.

confusingly similar

Confusingly similar, is a standard test that is applied to see whether a potential trademark conflicts with an existing trademark for the trademark registration purpose.

An example of confusingly similar in trademark law is when a symbol or logo is so exceedingly similar to an existing trademark that the public might mistake the symbol with the existing one.
