"Projects" is a deliberately vague category that can be used to describe a web site, the research program running a web site, or a particular service or research activity offered by or on either. Examples of projects would be an LII (both research program and web site), Norme in Rete (a web site, mostly), ITTIG (a research program) and so on.
The Legal Information Institute was founded in 1992 at the Cornell Law School. It was the first web site to offer legal information freely on the Internet.
