jury panel

Jury panel is the group of prospective jurors selected from the jury pool of the surrounding community to be a part of the voir dire process of a judicial proceeding . Members of the jury panel are briefed by the judges and can be challenged by parties who are provided with a jury list containing each prospective juror’s name, address and occupation. A juror can be excused from the panel if a party shows that the juror cannot act impartially. Both parties have a limited number of peremptory challenges and therefore can strike members of the jury panel without providing a reason.
