4 AAC 06.712 - Developmental profile
(a) As part of the comprehensive system of
student assessments required by
AS
14.07.020(b) and
4
AAC 06.710, each district shall submit to the
department by November 1 of each school year, on a form provided by the
department, a developmental profile for each student entering kindergarten or
first grade in each school in the district, including charter schools. A
student whose profile was submitted upon entering kindergarten does not need an
additional profile upon entering first grade.
(b) Indicators that must be used in preparing
a student's developmental profile under this section include
(1) physical health, well-being, and motor
development;
(2) social and
emotional development;
(3)
approaches to learning;
(4)
cognition and general knowledge;
(5) communication, language, and literacy;
and
(6) child background.
(c) For the purposes of this
section, "child background" means the factors that affect a child's school
performance, such as the child's pre-school experience, whether the child has
an individualized education program (IEP), and the child's health
data.
