Ariz. Admin. Code § R3-2-409.01 - Requirements of Certified Rabies Vaccinator Approved Curriculum; Recordkeeping; Inspection
A.
Approved curriculum training shall include an instructional section and a
practical exam showing competency; and shall include, but not be limited to,
the following topics:
1. Anatomy.
2. Personnel safety.
3. Acceptable methods of disposal of
supplies.
4. Humane methods of
handling domestic animals.
5.
Proper vaccine storage and handling.
6. Proper vaccine administration.
7. Record keeping.
8. Management and reporting of adverse
events.
B. These rules
are provided as components of a certified rabies-vaccinator program, and no fee
shall be charged by the State Veterinarian, however the State Veterinarian
takes no position on establishment of reasonable fees by a supervising
veterinarian for implementation of a certified rabies-vaccinator
program.
C. The Certified Rabies
Vaccinator shall keep records of all vaccination-related activities for three
years including, but not limited to:
1. Rabies
certificates.
2. Adverse event
reports, including reports of human exposure to rabies vaccines.
D. A shelter is subject to
periodic random inspection by the Office of the State Veterinarian. Upon
request by the Office of the State Veterinarian, the responsible supervising
veterinarian or Certified Rabies Vaccinator shall immediately produce requested
records.
E. Following an audit or
inspection, if evidence exists of noncompliance with the above standards, the
State Veterinarian reserves the right to terminate a Certified Rabies
Vaccinator's certification.
