Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 16, § 1399.545 - Supervision Required

(a) A supervising physician shall be available by telephone, or by other electronic communication when the physician assistant is providing medical services for patients.

(b) The supervising physician has continuing responsibility to follow the progress of the patient and to make sure that the physician assistant does not function without supervision. The supervising physician shall be responsible for all medical services provided by a physician assistant under their supervision.
