Fla. Admin. Code Ann. R. 62-296.708 - Sweat or Pot Furnaces
(1)
Applicability. The emission limitations set forth in Rule
62-296.708, F.A.C., shall apply
to indirectly heated furnaces which are temperature controlled for the
differential melting of scrap or combined metal products or which melt metals
for coating or reclamation.
(2)
Emission Limitations. No owner or operator of a sweat or pot furnace shall
cause, permit, or allow emissions of particulate matter in excess of 0.05
gr/dscf, or visible emissions greater than 10 percent opacity.
(3) Test Methods and Procedures. All
emissions tests performed pursuant to the requirements of this rule shall
comply with the following requirements.
(a)
The test method for visible emissions shall be EPA Method 9, as described at 40
C.F.R. Part 60, Appendix A-4, adopted and incorporated by reference at Rule
62-204.800, F.A.C.
(b) The test method for particulate matter
emissions shall be EPA Method 5, as described at 40 C.F.R. Part 60, Appendix
A-3, adopted and incorporated by reference at Rule
62-204.800, F.A.C. The minimum
sample volume shall be 30 dry standard cubic feet.
(c) Test procedures shall meet all applicable
requirements of Chapter 62-297, F.A.C.
