Haw. Code R. § 13-93-1 - Definitions
As used in this chapter unless otherwise provided:
"Holdfast" means that portion of the stem which is attached to the substratum.
"Limu" means and includes all Gracilaria species including limu manauea (Gracilaria coronopifolia), which is generally shorter in overall length and more densely branched, and ogo (Gracilaria parvispora), which is generally longer in overall length and not as densely branched as limu manauea.
"Reproductive nodes" means the small, dark-colored nodules or bumps on the stem and branches of limu from which spores are produced.
