Iowa Admin. Code r. 661-91.16 - Curriculum for annual emergency medical training for an educator professional permit

(1) Annual live, in-person emergency medical training for an educator professional permit shall be at minimum three hours and will include all of the following information and practical experience:
a. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and cardiac arrest management, including the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
b. Basic knowledge of first aid and trauma care, including casualty assessment, hemorrhage control, and assessment and initial treating of penetrating chest and abdominal wounds.
c. Basic knowledge and skills necessary to stop/slow life-threatening blood loss.
(2) A current certification for CPR and first aid shall satisfy two hours of the required training.
