Iowa Admin. Code r. 875-72.3 - Accommodating the physically disabled
All passenger elevators installed between January 1, 1975, and December 31, 1982, that are available and intended for public use shall be usable by the physically disabled. All passenger elevators will have control buttons with identifying features for the benefit of the blind and will allow for wheelchair traffic. All passenger elevators and wheelchair lifts installed on or after January 1, 1983, that are accessible to the general public shall comply with Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities ANSI A117.1, sections 407 and 408.
