Iowa Code r. 875-173.15 - Penalties
The referee will penalize a contestant who commits any foul by deducting points from the contestant's score for the round in which the foul is committed. If, in the referee's judgment, the foul is of a serious nature or intentionally inflicted, the referee may award the bout to the contestant who was fouled.
