Mich. Admin. Code R. 338.11221 - Licensure by examination to practice dental hygiene
Rule 1221. In addition to meeting the requirements of R 338.7001 to R 338.7005, any other rules promulgated under the code, and section 16174 of the code, MCL 333.16174, an applicant for dental hygienist licensure by examination shall submit a completed application, on a form provided by the department, together with the requisite fee, and meet all of the following requirements:
(a)
Graduate from a dental hygiene educational program in compliance with the
standards in R
338.11303.
(b) Pass all parts of the NBDHE that is
conducted and scored by the JCNDE to qualify for the licensing examination
provided for in subdivision (c) of this rule. The requirement does not apply to
an applicant who graduated from a dental hygiene program before 1962.
(c) Pass all parts written and clinical, of
the ADEX examination that is conducted by the CDCA-WREB-CITA, a successor
organization, or by another regional testing agency.
(d) Beginning 6 months after the effective
date of this subdivision, submit proof of current certification in BLS or ACLS
for healthcare providers with a hands-on component from an agency or
organization that grants certification pursuant to standards equivalent to
those established by the AHA, earned within the 2-year period before receiving
the license.
