Mich. Admin. Code R. 400.15318 - Emergency preparedness; evacuation plan; emergency transportation
Rule 318.
(1) A
licensee shall have a written emergency procedure and evacuation plan to be
followed in case of fire, medical, or severe weather emergencies. The
evacuation plan shall be prominently posted in the home. Residents who require
special assistance shall be identified in the written procedure.
(2) An evacuation plan shall, at a minimum,
include a floor plan that specifies the locations of evacuation routes and the
exiting route to be followed in case of fire.
(3) A telephone shall be available and
accessible in a home. Emergency telephone numbers shall, at a minimum, include
fire, police, and medical emergency services and shall be conspicuously posted
immediately adjacent to telephones.
(4) A licensee shall ensure that residents,
all employees, volunteers under the direction of the licensee, and members of
the household are familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
(5) A licensee shall practice emergency and
evacuation procedures during daytime, evening, and sleeping hours at least once
per quarter. A record of the practices shall be maintained and be available for
department review.
(6) A licensee
shall assure emergency transportation through the use of a recognized available
community service or vehicle that is owned by the licensee, administrator, or
direct care staff on duty.
