Mich. Admin. Code R. 400.356 - Subpoena
Rule 356.
(1)
The department or presiding officer at an administrative hearing may issue a
subpoena to do any of the following:
(a)
Compel the attendance of a witness to testify at an administrative
hearing.
(b) Produce books, papers,
documents, or other items relevant to the hearing.
(2) If a subpoena is disobeyed, the director
of the department or the director's designee may petition the circuit court to
require the attendance of the witness or the production of books, papers,
documents, or other items. The circuit court may issue an order requiring a
person to appear and give testimony or produce books, papers, documents, or
other items. Failure to obey the order of the circuit court may be punished by
the court as contempt of court.
