33 Miss. Code. R. 208-5.4 - Standards for Shallow Flooding Zones
Located within the areas of special flood hazard established in Part 208, Rule 3.1, are areas designated as shallow flooding areas. These areas have flood hazards associated with base flood depths of one to three feet, where a clearly defined channel does not exist and the water path of flooding is unpredictable and indeterminate; therefore, the following provisions, in addition to the standards of Part 208, Rule 5.1 and 5.2 apply:
Have the lowest floor, including basement, elevated to or above the highest adjacent grade at least as high as the depth number (plus community freeboard) specified in feet on the Flood Insurance Rate Map. If no depth number is specified, the lowest floor, including basement, shall be elevated to no less than three feet six inches above the highest adjacent grade.
For all accessory buildings in SFHA designated "VE" all requirements stated in Part 208, Rule 5, Section G will apply.
