Ohio Admin. Code 4501-52-01 - Requirements for annual inspection of buses; incorporated materials

This chapter of the Administrative Code includes materials that are incorporated by reference. The text of the referenced materials is not included in the rules contained in this chapter. Information regarding the date or applicable version of the material, as well as its availability, can be found in paragraphs (C) and (D) of this rule.

(A) The state highway patrol shall annually inspect every bus as defined in section 4513.50 of the Revised Code. The state highway patrol shall have the proper tools, equipment and trained personnel to inspect all lighting devices, brake components, steering components, suspension systems, tires, wheels, axles, frame components, exhaust systems, window glass, windshield wipers, mirrors, emergency exits, emergency exit markings, seats, floors, storage areas, fire extinguishers, emergency safety reflectors, and any other equipment, component or record as required by this chapter. The office of licensing and commercial standards, motor carrier enforcement unit shall conduct all annual inspections unless otherwise assigned by the superintendent of the highway patrol.
(B) The superintendent of the state highway patrol shall designate sites at which safety inspections may be conducted and may authorize inspectors to enter in or upon the property of any bus owner or operator to conduct safety inspections.
(C) The materials incorporated by reference in this chapter are available as follows:

(D) Except as otherwise provided, the versions of all federal regulations and other texts incorporated by reference in this chapter of the Administrative Code are as listed in this paragraph, and if such incorporated material is subject to change, the date of the version referenced is provided.
