Ohio Admin. Code 901:1-19-02 - Definitions

(A) Department

Department means the Ohio department of agriculture.

(A) (B) Official test

An official test for Equine Infectious Anemia equine infectious anemia is a test conducted at a State state or State-Federal state-federal approved laboratory, which has been approved by the department. Any sample or material submitted for said test must have been obtained by a licensed and accredited veterinarian, or an employee of the Ohio Department department of Agriculture agriculture, or an employee of Veterinary Services, the United States Department department of Agriculture agriculture, veterinary services.

(B) (C) Report of official test

Any test for Equine Infectious Anemia equine infectious anemia on a sample fromany an animal within the State state of Ohio must be reported to the Ohio department of agriculture within seven days. The report must be on a form approved by the Ohio department of agriculture and shall provide:

(1) Name and address of owner or bailee;

(2) Location of animal , including county, of where the equine was when the sample was collected; and

(3) Date samples collected; and

(4) Date samples submitted; and

(5) Identification of each individual animal by equine sampled, including name, age, sex, color markings, and registration number or a tattoo, brand, mane or tail tag, or drawing.

(C) (D) Reactor or positive

Any animal with lab results that are positive on a confirmatory test at a state or state-federal approved laboratoryclassed as positive to an official test.

(D) (E) Suspect

Any animal demonstrating clinical evidence or symptoms of Equine Infectious Anemia equine infectious anemia to a licensed accredited veterinarian or representative of the Ohio department of agriculture.

(E) (F) Negative

Any animal classed negative to an official test.
