Or. Admin. Code § 740-105-0100 - General
(1) Definitions. As
used in this section, the following abbreviations have the following meaning:
(a) AWS, "American Welding
Society";
(b) LTR, "Log Truck
Reach" typically, a 9" x 7" x .188"/.250" rectangular tubing used to steer a
log trailer;
(c) SMAW, "Shielded
Metal Arc Welding";
(d) FCAW, "Flux
Cored Arc Welding";
(e) ASTM,
"American Society of Testing Materials";
(f) DC, "Direct Current".
(2) LTR Repairs. Welded repair(s)
of log truck reaches may only be accomplished in accordance with OAR
740-105-0100 through
740-105-0270.
(3) Welder certification. Maintenance
personnel who perform welding services to effect repairs of a LTR must be
certified to the AWS Structural Welding Code D1.1.,
1992.
