Utah Admin. Code R277-725-1 - Authority, Purpose, and Oversight Category
(1) This rule is authorized by:
(a) Utah Constitution Article X, Section 3,
which vests general control and supervision over public education in the
Board;
(b) Subsection
53E-3-401(4),
which allows the Board to make rules to execute the Board's duties and
responsibilities under the Utah Constitution and state law;
(c) Subsection
53F-4-503(13),
which requires the Board to contract with a private entity to administer the
portion of the SOEP that is designated for students attending private school or
home school.
(d) Section
53F-4-514, which requires the
Board to make rules for the operation of the Statewide Online Education
Program.
(2) The
purposes of this rule is to:
(a) establish
procedures and requirements for program activities overseen by the Board's
contractor; and
(b) establish other
requirements for the Board's contractor.
(3) This Rule R277-725 is categorized as
Category 4 as described in Rule R277-111.
