Utah Admin. Code R432-100-7 - Administrator
(1) The administrator shall establish and
maintain an organizational structure for the hospital indicating the authority
and responsibility of various positions, departments, and services within the
hospital.
(2) The administrator
shall:
(a) designate, in writing, a person to
act in the administrator's absence;
(b) be the direct representative of the board
in the management of the hospital;
(c) function as liaison between the board,
the medical staff, the nursing staff, and departments of the
hospital;
(d) advise the board in
the formulation of hospital policies and procedures;
(e) review and revise policies and procedures
to reflect current hospital practice;
(f) ensure that policies and procedures are
implemented and followed;
(g)
maintain a written record of any business transactions and patient services
provided in the hospital and submit reports as requested to the
board;
(h) ensure that each
applicant for medical and professional staff membership is oriented to agency
or hospital bylaws and shall agree in writing to abide by each
condition;
(i) ensure that patient
billing practices comply with the requirements of Section
26B-2-219; and
(j) appoint a member of the staff to oversee
compliance with the requirements of the Utah Anatomical Gift Act.
