Utah Admin. Code R432-101-31 - Activity Therapy
(1)
(a) The licensee shall provide activity
therapy services to meet the physical, social, cultural, recreational, health
maintenance and rehabilitation needs of patients as outlined in the patient
care plan.
(b) The licensee shall
ensure the activity therapy service has policies that describe the organization
of the service and provision for services to the patient population that
ensure:
(i) program goals and objectives are
stated in writing;
(ii) appropriate
activities are provided to patients during the day, in the evening, and on the
weekend;
(iii) patient
participation in planning is sought, when possible; and
(iv) activity schedules are posted in places
accessible to patients and staff;
(c) activity therapy is incorporated into the
patient care plan;
(d) patients are
permitted leisure time and encouraged to use it in a way that fulfills their
cultural and recreational interests and their feelings of human dignity;
and
(e) the activity therapy
service is supervised.
(2) The licensee shall provide enough space,
equipment, and facilities, that are compliant with any applicable federal,
state and local requirements for safety, fire prevention, health and
sanitation, to meet the needs of the patients.
