Utah Admin. Code R432-101-9 - Professional Staff
(1) The licensee
shall ensure the psychiatric services of the hospital are organized, staffed
and supported according to the nature, scope and extent of the services
provided.
(2) Section
R432-100-8 additionally applies
to professional staff of a psychiatric specialty hospital .
(3) The medical direction of the psychiatric
care and services of the hospital shall be under a licensed physician who is a
member of the medical staff , appointed by the governing body, and certified or
eligible for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and
Neurology.
(5) The licensee shall provide enough
qualified, and competent health care professional and support staff to assess
and address patient needs within the plan for patient care services .
(6) The licensee may employ qualified
professional staff members or retain by contract.
(7) The licensee shall ensure professional
staff are assigned or assume specific responsibilities on the treatment team as
qualified by training and educational experience and as permitted by hospital
policy and the scope of the professional license .
