Utah Admin. Code R432-12-11 - Nurse Call System
(1) The licensee of
a Level I, II or IV facility shall ensure there is a nurse call system in the
facility. A nurse call system is optional in a Level III facility.
(2) The licensee shall ensure:
(a) each resident's room is served by at
least one calling station and each bed is provided with a call button including
operating switch and cord from the wall station to each bed;
(b) two call buttons serving adjacent beds
may be served by one calling station;
(c) calls activate a visible signal in the
corridor at the resident's door and the control station;
(d) the system is designed so that a signal
light activated at the resident's station will remain lit until turned off at
the resident's calling station; and
(e) a system that provides two-way voice
communication is equipped at each calling station with an indicator light that
remains lit as long as the voice circuit is operating.
