Utah Admin. Code R432-12-13 - Doors and Windows
(1) For a small
health care facility's doors, the licensee shall ensure:
(a) each room, including any resident toilet
rooms and bathing rooms that may be used by residents, staff, or employees
confined to wheelchairs, has at least one door with a minimum clearance width
of 34 inches;
(b) resident room
doors and exit doors are at least 36 inches wide, defined by the width of the
door leaf; and
(c) thresholds and
expansion-joint covers are flush with the floor surface to facilitate use of
wheelchairs and carts and to prevent tripping.
(2) For a small health care facility's
windows, the licensee shall ensure:
(a) every
room used for 24-hour occupancy has a window that opens to the building
exterior or to a courtyard that is open to the sky; and
(b) windows and outer doors have insect
screens.
