Utah Admin. Code R432-150-8 - Medical Director
(1) The licensee
shall ensure that the administrator secures, by formal agreement, a licensed
physician to serve as medical director or advisory physician according to
resident and facility needs.
(2)
The medical director or advisory physician shall:
(a) act as consultant to the director of
nursing or the health services supervisor in matters relating to resident care
policies;
(b) develop resident care
policies and procedures, including the delineation of responsibilities of
attending physicians;
(c) review
current resident care policies and procedures with the administrator;
(d) review incident and accident reports at
the request of the administrator to identify health hazards to a resident and
employee; and
(e) serve as a
liaison between resident physicians and the administrator.
