Utah Admin. Code R432-270-23 - Housekeeping Services
(1) The licensee
shall employ housekeeping staff to maintain both the exterior and interior of
the facility.
(2) The licensee
shall designate a person to direct housekeeping services who shall:
(a) post routine laundry, maintenance, and
cleaning schedules for housekeeping staff; and
(b) ensure furniture, bedding, linens, and
equipment are clean before use by another resident.
(3) The licensee shall ensure control odors
by maintaining cleanliness.
(4) The
licensee shall provide a trash container in every occupied room.
(5) The licensee shall ensure cleaning
agents, bleaches, insecticides, or poisonous, dangerous, or flammable materials
are stored in a locked area to prevent unauthorized access.
(6) The licensee shall ensure housekeeping
personnel are trained regarding:
(a) preparing
and using cleaning solutions;
(b)
cleaning procedures;
(c) proper use
of equipment;
(d) proper handling
of clean and soiled linen; and
(e)
procedures for disposal of waste.
(7) The licensee shall ensure bathtubs,
shower stalls, or lavatories are not used as storage places.
(8) The licensee shall ensure throw or
scatter rugs that present a tripping hazard to residents are not
used.
