Utah Admin. Code R432-6-103 - Resident Units
(1) Minimum room
areas, exclusive of toilet rooms, closets, lockers, wardrobes, alcoves, and
vestibules, shall be 100 square feet in single-bed rooms and 80 square feet per
bed in multiple-bed rooms.
(a) The areas
noted above are minimums and do not prohibit larger rooms.
(b) Resident units may not have more than two
beds per unit
(2) No
room used for other purposes, such as a hall, corridor, unfinished attic,
garage, storage area, shed, or similar detached building, may be used as a
residents' sleeping room.
(3) No
bedroom may be used as a passageway to another room, bath, or toilet other than
those serving the bedroom.
(4)
Bedrooms shall open directly into a corridor or common living area, but shall
not open into a food preparation area.
(5) Unless furnished by the resident, the
licensee shall provide for each resident a bed, comfortable chair, a chest of
drawers and a reading lamp.
