Utah Admin. Code R432-600-22 - Housekeeping Services
(1) There shall be
adequate housekeeping services to maintain a clean, sanitary, and healthful
environment in the facility.
(2)
Written housekeeping policies and procedures shall be developed and implemented
by each facility, and reviewed and updated as necessary.
(3) The facility shall employ housekeeping
staff to maintain both the exterior and interior of the facility in a safe,
clean, orderly manner.
(4)
Housekeeping equipment shall be for institutional use and properly
maintained.
(5) Cleaning solutions
for floors shall be prepared in proper strengths according to the
manufacturer's instructions and be checked to insure that the proper germicidal
concentrations are maintained.
(6)
There shall be sufficient number of noncombustible trash containers. Lids shall
be provided where appropriate.
(7)
Storage areas containing cleaning agents, bleaches, insecticides, or poisonous,
dangerous, or flammable materials, shall be stored in a locked area to prevent
unauthorized access. Toilet rooms shall not be used as storage
places.
