Utah Admin. Code R432-600-24 - Maintenance Services
(1) There shall be
adequate maintenance service to ensure that the facility, equipment, and
grounds are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition and in good repair at
all times, in accordance with manufacturer specifications for the safety and
well-being of patients, staff, and visitors.
(2) The administrator shall employ or
contract with a person qualified by experience and training to be in charge of
facility maintenance.
(3) The
facility shall develop and implement a written maintenance program, including
preventive maintenance, to ensure continued operation and sanitary practices
throughout the facility.
(4) All
buildings, fixtures, equipment and spaces shall be maintained in operable
conditions.
(5) A pest control
program shall be conducted to ensure the facility is free from vermin and
rodents.
(6) Equipment used in the
clinic shall be approved by Underwriter's Laboratory and meet all applicable
Utah Occupational Safety and Health Act requirements in effect at the time of
purchase.
(7) Electrical systems
including appliances, cords, equipment, call lights, and switches shall be
maintained to guarantee safe functioning and compliance with the National
Electrical Code.
(8) There shall be
regular inspections, to clean or replace all filters installed in heating, air
conditioning, and ventilation systems, to maintain the systems in operating
condition.
