Utah Admin. Code R649-3-19 - Well Testing
1. Each operator
shall conduct a stabilized production test of at least 24 hours duration not
later than 15 days following the completion or recompletion of any well for the
production of oil or gas.
1.1. The results of
the test shall be reported in writing to the division within 15 days after
completion of the test.
1.2.
Additional tests shall be made as requested by the
division.
2. The division
may request subsurface pressure measurements on a sufficient number of wells in
any pool to provide adequate data to determine reservoir
characteristics.
3. Upon written
request, the division may waive or extend the time for conducting any
test.
4. A gas-oil ratio "GOR" test
shall be conducted not later than 15 days following the completion or
recompletion of each well in a pool that contains both oil and gas.
4.1. The average daily oil production, the
average daily gas production and the average GOR shall be recorded.
4.2. The results of the GOR test shall be
reported in writing to the division within 15 days after completion of the
test.
4.3. A GOR test of at least
24 hours duration shall satisfy the requirements of Subsection
R649-3-19(1).
5. When the results of a multipoint test or
other approved test for the determination of gas well potential have not been
submitted to the division within 30 days after completion or recompletion of
any producible gas well, the division may order this test to be made.
5.1. Any data pertinent to the test shall be
submitted to the division in legible, written form within 15 days after
completion of the test.
5.2. The
performance of a multipoint or other approved test shall satisfy the
requirements of Subsection
R649-3-19(1).
6. Any tests of any producible gas well will
be taken in accordance with the Manual of Back-Pressure Testing of Gas Wells
published by the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission, with necessary
modifications as approved by the division.
