Utah Admin. Code R65-1-3 - Board
(1) The Board of Control shall consist of
seven members, two of whom shall be handlers to implement the duties of the
board, plus the commissioner.
(2)
(a) The commissioner shall select the
original board members from a list of names submitted by the
industry.
(b) The board shall
consist of:
(i) two producer members and one
handler for two years -the first appointment only;
(ii) three producer members and one handler
for four years; and
(iii) each
appointment shall be for four years after the first year.
(3) The commissioner shall appoint
successors to original members from names submitted by the industry.
(4) Pursuant to Sections
63A-3-106 and
63A-3-107, board members may
receive per diem and travel expenses incurred by the board member for
attendance at an official meeting.
(5)
(a) A
majority of the board members plus the chair shall constitute a
quorum.
(b) Each decision of the
board shall be by majority vote.
(6) A designee from the Agricultural
Cooperative Association may serve as an ex officio member to complete the
duties of the board.
