Utah Admin. Code R657-20-8 - Equipment
(1) Prior to the facilities inspection and
issuance of a falconry COR, the applicant shall possess the following items for
each raptor in possession or for each raptor proposed for future capture:
(a)
(i) at
least one (1) pair of Aylmeri jesses, or similar type, made from pliable, high
quality leather or suitable synthetic material, or the materials and equipment
necessary to make Aylmeri jesses or other material to be used when any raptor
is flown free; and
(ii) traditional
one (1)-piece jesses may be used on raptors when not being flown;
(b) at least one (1) flexible,
weather-resistant leash;
(c) at
least one (1) swivel of acceptable falconry design;
(d) at least one (1) suitable container, two
(2) to six (6) inches deep and wider than the length of the raptor, to hold
drinking and bathing water for each raptor;
(e) at least one (1) perch of an acceptable
design will be provided for use for each raptor;
(f) a reliable scale or balance suitable for
weighing the raptor held and graduated to increments of not more than one
(1)-half ounce or less; and
(g) for
small raptors, such as kestrels, merlins, and sharp-shinned hawks, the scale
must weight in increments of at least one (1) gram.
