Utah Admin. Code R698-7-8 - Ambulance Vehicles
(1) A publicly
owned or privately owned ambulance vehicle may be designated as an emergency
vehicle if the vehicle is licensed by the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services
to provide emergency and non-emergency ambulance services under Title 53,
Chapter 2d, Emergency Medical Services Act.
(2) An industrial ambulance vehicle can be
designated as an emergency vehicle if:
(a) the
vehicle is in compliance with the emergency lights and siren requirements of
Title 41, Chapter 6a, Traffic Code;
(b) the vehicle is properly
insured;
(c) the vehicle is
licensed; and
(d) the company that
owns the vehicle receives written authorization to operate the vehicle as an
emergency vehicle from:
(i) the sheriff of
the county in which the company is located; and
(ii) the chief of police of the city, if any,
in which the company is located.
