Utah Admin. Code R70-640-2 - Definitions
For this rule:
(1)
"Cosmetic" means the same as the term defined in
21 U.S.C. Sec.
321.
(2) "Department" means the Utah Department of
Agriculture and Food.
(3) "GMP
certificate" means a certificate issued by the department under this rule that
indicates that a manufacturing facility has been inspected by the department
and is compliant with good manufacturing practices.
(4) "Good manufacturing practices" or "GMP"
means the good manufacturing practices described in the United States Food and
Drug Administration's Guidance for Industry: Cosmetic Good Manufacturing
Practices June 2013 version, which is incorporated by reference in this
rule.
(5) "Manufacturing facility"
means commercial buildings and structures, including machinery and equipment,
the primary purpose of which is the manufacture of cosmetics or the processing
of cosmetics by physical or chemical change. A manufacturing facility does not
include a home, personal dwelling, or residence.
