Utah Admin. Code R708-2-17 - Advertising and School Location
(1) Schools may
not imply or expressly guarantee that a driver license is assured. The display
of a sign such as "Driver License Secured Here" is prohibited.
(2) A school may display on its premises a
sign reading, "This School is licensed, or approved, by the State of
Utah".
(3) No school may solicit
business directly or indirectly or display or distribute any advertising
material within 1500 feet of a building where vehicle registrations or driver
licenses are issued to the public.
(4) In municipalities having a population of
50,000 or more, a school license shall not be issued if the proposed school's
place of business is located within 1500 feet of a facility where vehicle
registrations or driver licenses are issued to the public.
(5) When a school is established in a
location prior to the origination of a facility located within 1500 feet of the
school where vehicle registrations or driver licenses are issued to the public,
the school may continue operation. However, the school's location may not be
transferred to another corporation, partnership, or owner, under the same
school name or a different school name.
(6) No commercial driver training school or
testing only school may change its place of business or location without prior
approval from the division.
(7) No
school may use Department of Public Safety or Driver License Division logos,
letterhead, or driver license recreations, or imply that they have the ability
to issue or withhold a driver license or learner permit.
