Utah Admin. Code R708-53-7 - Required Behind-the-Wheel and Certified Instructor Observation Hours
The course shall include 50 hours of teaching behind-the-wheel training and observing a certified instructor teaching behind-the-wheel training divided as follows:
(1) 30 hours of behind-the-wheel training on
the following:
(a) introduction to
behind-the-wheel training;
(b)
proper instruction of driving maneuvers;
(c) creating an adequate and approved
training route;
(d) driving in
urban, rural, and suburban areas; and
(e) elements of instructor demonstration, and
observation;
(2) 14 hours
watching a certified instructor teaching behind-the-wheel training;
and
(3) six hours teaching student
instructors behind-the-wheel training while being monitored by a certified
instructor.
