Internet

The Internet is a global electronic communications network that connects various smaller networks and organizational computer facilities utilizing standardized communication protocols (see Merriam-Webster). 47 USC § 230(f)(1) defines the Internet as “the international computer network of both Federal and non-Federal interoperable packet switched data networks.” Numerous agencies play a role in regulating the Internet and keeping the Internet secure. These include: the Federal Trade Commission, the Federal Communications Commission, and the National Coordinator for Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience.
