Iowa Code r. 875-5.17 - Prehearing conferences
(1)
Convening conference. Upon the commissioner's own motion or
the motion of a party, the commissioner or the commissioner's designee may
direct the parties or the parties' counsel to meet with the commissioner for a
conference to consider:
a. Simplification of
the issues;
b. Necessity or
desirability of amendments to documents for purpose of clarification,
simplification, or limitation;
c.
Stipulations, admissions of fact and of contents and authenticity of
documents;
d. Limitation of the
number of parties and of expert witnesses; and
e. Such other matters as may tend to expedite
the disposition of the proceeding and to ensure a just conclusion
thereof.
(2)
Record of conference. The commissioner or the commissioner's
designee shall make an order that recites the action taken at the
conference.
