Utah Admin. Code R392-302-38 - Special Purpose Pools: Wading Pools
(1)
The manager shall consult with the local health officer before opening a wading
pool.
(2) The manager shall ensure
that each wading pool:
(a) meets any
applicable requirement of this rule in addition to this section;
(b) is separate from other pools;
(c) does not share common circulation,
filtration, chemical treatment systems, or a wall with other pools;
(d) does not exceed a maximum water depth of
two feet;
(e) has a minimum of one
turnover per hour as described in Table 1;
(f) has a minimum of two equally spaced
inlets around the perimeter of the wading pool, if the wading pool has wall
inlets;
(g) with a perimeter that
exceeds 20 feet, has wall inlets that are spaced at a minimum of one in each 20
feet or fraction thereof; and
(h)
has a drain to waste for wastewater disposal as described in Section
R392-302-7 through a quick
opening valve to facilitate emptying the wading pool for a fecal release or
other contamination.
(3)
The local health officer may allow the deck of a wading pool to be included as
part of adjacent pool decks.
