Utah Admin. Code R392-701-8 - Maintenance Requirements for a Permanent Body Art Facility
The operator shall ensure that:
(1) any interior wall, floor, and surface of
a procedure area is smooth, free of open holes or cracks, washable, and in good
repair;
(2) any procedure surface,
table, counter, equipment, chair, and other surface in the body art facility is
constructed of smooth, easily cleanable materials;
(3) body art instruments and supplies are
stored in clean, dry, and covered containers and not stored or located in a
toilet room or garbage room, or under sewer lines that are not shielded to
intercept potential drips;
(4)
during the body art facility's hours of operation, a body artist has access to
a sufficient supply of:
(a) any cleaning
supplies necessary to maintain a sanitary work environment;
(b) chemical disinfectant;
(c) clean equipment; and
(d) sterile body art instruments;
(5) each plumbing fixture in the
body art facility:
(a) complies with Plumbing
Code, including backflow prevention requirements;
(b) is free from cracks and similar disrepair
which may prevent proper cleaning; and
(c) can be used simultaneously without
expending all available hot water;
(6) effective measures are in place to:
(a) prevent the presence of vermin in the
body art facility; and
(b) ensure
that exterior openings, windows, skylights, and outer doors are protected
against the entrance of flies and other flying insects by self-closing doors,
closed windows, 16-mesh or finer screening, controlled air currents, or other
means approved by the local health officer;
(7) equipment is operated and maintained
according to the manufacturer's instructions; and
(8) the local health officer is provided with
a copy of the manufacturer's recommended procedures for equipment operation and
maintenance upon request.
