Utah Admin. Code R436-5-7 - Previous Certificate Placement in a Sealed File
(1) Upon updating the birth registration and
preparation of a supplementary certificate of birth in accordance with this
rule, the state registrar shall place the previous certificate and the evidence
upon which the supplementary birth certificate was based in a sealed
file.
(2) The sealed file is not
subject to inspection, except:
(a) upon order
of a court of competent jurisdiction;
(b) in compliance with Sections
78B-6-141 and
78B-6-144; or
(c) by the state registrar to properly
administer the vital statistics program.

(1) Upon preparation of a new certificate under this rule, the State Registrar shall place the original certificate and the evidence upon which the new certificate was based in a sealed file.
(2) The sealed file is not subject to inspection, except:

(b) in compliance with Sections 78B-6-141 and 78B-6-144; or
(c) by the State Registrar to properly administering the vital statistics program.
